Memorial Plastic Surgery’s Measures in Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus update

Memorial Plastic Surgery’s top priority is to keep our patients and staff safe, and we are taking every measure to avoid the potential spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Influenza at our facilities. Based on the current facts and information, the risk to our patients and staff of contracting COVID-19 remains low. No change is planned for our business operations at this time and our locations are open for normal business hours.

As a reminder, the best defense against the spread of respiratory viruses is prevention.
Below are some important precautions and considerations to prevent the spread of illnesses:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before eating, after using the restroom or after blowing your nose. If you can’t wash your hands, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60-95% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and discard appropriately. If tissue is not available, use the elbow of your arm (do not use your hands).
  • Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in your home and workplace.
  • Do not share food, drinks or eating utensils with others.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are sick.

Additional safety measures have also been implemented at our practice to enable us to continue providing the best service and care to our patients:

  • Restricted access to anyone experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, or respiratory distress.
  • Sick employees are required to stay at home.
  • Increased sanitation on contact surfaces using hospital-grade disinfectant cleaners, which are effective against viruses such as the coronavirus.
  • Avoiding close contact and handshakes.
  • Available disinfectant hand soap and hand sanitizer throughout our entire office.
  • Additional education and posting of notices for patients and staff about proper handwashing.
  • Professional medical grade cleaning throughout our entire office and surgical suites after each business day.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates to our patients and staff accordingly. For any questions or concerns, please contact our Houston or Clear Lake office.
